Cougars Lacrosse vs New Stars

Conditions: Brisk wind, dry.
Cougars Seniors kicked off against a familiar opposition with New Stars expected to be strong and likely to be a tough for the opening fixture of the season. Cougars started well, with Jessica L being precisely put through by Lucy L and scoring the opener to put the home side ahead within a couple of minutes of the whistle. New Stars responded smartly to level the score at 1-1. Game on!
However, following excellent goals from Elise T, Emma Fo, Georgie W, and Jess C, Cougars stretched ahead before New Stars responded making it 7-3 at the half time interval.
Lana C in goal and her defence continued to maintain great discipline with numerous saves, interceptions and blocks from them all, with stand out performances from Emma Fa and Alisa S. Goals in the second half from Tania C, Alisa S, Chloe G, Sophie N (2) and Lucy L sealed a 14-4 victory in what was a free flowing game played in good spirit.
